Beauty is always on view in the townscapes of Woodbridge …but turn around and look behind

you and there is often unexpected charm in the nooks and crannies of this old town.

evident in the paintings of John Roberts in his Summer exhibition of Unexpected Beauty  

He has been busy painting in Woodbridge since 1960 when he first came up from London

to buy a yacht and sail away to who-knows-where. He came under the spell of the town

and the locals and never left !

His paintings, however, have travelled for him - to Hong Kong, Australia, USA and Canada

and most countries in Europe.
