Artist: Hannah Norman

Inspired by the poetry of Emily Dickinson, my work invites you to step into her inner world. Each piece alludes to Dickinson’s love of nature, which she saw worthy of worship whilst not being blind to its darker side. For Dickinson nature served as a totem, allowing us to tap into our collective roots.

I use my love of mythology and folk art to convey my own perception of Dickinson’s thoughts and ideas- weaving collage, gouache and gold leaf into illustrative mosaics of story. Dickinson dared to live by her own rules. I mean to bring you the energy, fire and passion that runs through her life and work.
