An exhibition of painting and sculpture
presented by Jessica Oliver -Painter & Gus Farnes -Sculptor
Jessica Oliver
Jessica Oliver (MFA, BFA) is an award-winning landscape artist, working predominantly in the medium of oil on canvas. Following extensive classical training in Florence, she has worked as a full time artist and curator for
over ten years.
Central to her work is a nuanced, often romantic observation of landscape and vista. Inspired by her surroundings on the Suffolk coastline, Oliver’s most recent series centres on the dramatic, ever-shifting cloudscapes of her native environment.
With its skilled and attentive eye for the interplay of light and atmosphere, this collection of paintings experiments with the boundary between observation and abstraction – to transcendent effect.

Gus Farnes
Gus Farnes is a British artist working within a contemplative domain, fomented by human activity and the social milieu.
Led by an interest in history, mythology and lore Farnes sculpts using materials sampled from his local situation – remnants from a landscape, prehistoric monuments, organic matter and found objects are collaged using digital and analogue processes giving rise to figurative forms.
At the age of 16 Gus was introduced to alchemy of bronze casting by Laurence Edwards, captivated by this experience it set his course leading him to study Fine Art at NUA in 2000. After leaving Norwich, he moved to London and began working for Sotheby’s. In 2016 Gus left London to pursue his practice as an artist, establishing a studio and building a foundry located in Suffolk.
